More Flowers

Another visit to Linden Gardens to bring you more images of new flowers. Last evening we had a noisy thunderstorm and more rain, just before the antique car show and the annual Elvis Presley imitators get up on stage here in Penticton. It is amazing how he has become immortal and so popular with all ages. I remarked on this before when I found a dancing model of Elvis fastened to the wall in an operating room at the local hospital!

More Rain

Chives at Linden

Lone Iris
More rain is coming, soggy weather abounds, not just in UK.  The water is also running down our windows as I write, but it is only because they are cleaning the ones above. In our region, rivers are flooding with 25-year-high levels, and sandbags are in great demand. It is all so predictable as long as global warming continues. We have had global warming before, a long time ago, but this time it is man-made. ( Go to 350.org to help ).
So here are a few flowers to cheer you up this watery June day.

The Sing Song
The Big Day is now over, the cake is gone, the candles are out, one balloon got away, it's probably in South Africa by now, and all 21 friends have returned home. But the memories will always remain...

A New Day

Linden Gardens

This is a new day. The first in a new era. The next twenty years should be interesting. By then I will be 100. This is also the start of a new era in Greece. Sixty-one year old Antonis Samaras is their new Prime Minister.  He should do well, after all his father was a Professor of Cardiology and his brother is an architect and he himself has a degree in economics. So lets hope that together they can obtain a new heart, build for the future, and solve their economic problems. A good name too, the same name as a famous soccer player, Georgios Samaras! We'll drink to that!

Happiness

More Linden Garden images. Oh by the way, I'll be off to Ampleforth Abbey to sample the Benedictine beer. Perhaps there is truth in the adage" Happiness is a glass half empty "?

I'll let you know soon. After tomorrow. It's my birthday tomorrow. Then I will be a senior citizen, full of knowledge and experience!

As promised, more flower photos, after our visit to Linden Gardens for Father's Day Brunch, which was delicious, especially the dessert: crepes with strawberries and whipped cream. We even had ice cream later at Medici's in Oliver! Now back to analyze the results of yesterday's action on the world front....
PS the last Linden blog was 19th May 2012.

Echoes and Lines

Lines and more lines. Keremeos Ranch.

The hay lines are echoed in the mountain behind. Keremeos Haying Time.
Both echoes and lines seem to be important in composition. Here are a couple of examples for you whilst you wait for the soccer and election results. Enjoy your week-end! Why ever not? I am at my computer but I can multitask and also watch the cavortings of a couple of flycatchers through the window, and beyond, the scudding clouds.... Today we are off to Linden Gardens for brunch with friends, so you will have to put up with more flower photos soon..
Today is Father's Day so all you fathers take a break from dusting, and remember to throw your young son or daughter way up in the air in celebration. If you don't have one, throw your wife up instead.
