Sea Lions and Color Filters

Two subjects today. Two points of discussion. There are seven species of sea lion (at least) but here on the Pacific Coast two kinds present themselves: the Steller and the California. See if you can tell which this one is in today's photo! You are permitted the use of the internet!

The second one is about color filters. In the old days with film, photo buffs carried all kinds of them in their photo gear cases, nowadays these filters exist in cyberspace. See what you think of the use of filters here.

Rats! No prior comments to compare notes with! I'm going to stick my neck out and say the sealion is the steller, just because its coat is rougher; more hairy. (I did have problems with the nose though because it looks too stubby!)

Filters - I like the blue of the sky in the Summerland photo, but I generally prefer things to look the way they really are.

No Sepia? No Black and White? I wonder how things really are for colour-blind folk?
....It is a complex and subjective world we live in....
The common sea-lion is the California one. The Steller is much bigger, but you can't really tell from a wood carving...
